This luxurious seasonal twist on a timeless classic was created by food writer Aimee Twigger.
Aimee Twigger is a food blogger and author from south Devon, best known for her dark and moody style of photography. She lives in a little house in the seaside town of Torquay, with her partner Howard and her Dalmatian, Archie. As well as writing her blog twiggstudios.com, she has written two baking cookbooks and hopes to write another. Aimee first found her passion for food photography a few years ago, and has been lucky enough to travel around the world teaching workshops ever since.

 

Ingredients (makes 4)

For the spiced coffee liqueur:
Light brown sugar, 50g
Cinnamon sticks, 2
Star anise, 2
Water, 150ml
Instant coffee, 2 tbsp
Vodka liqueur, 300ml
For the vodka liqueur:
Double cream, 350ml
Whole milk, 350ml
Black Cow vodka, 200 ml
Ice

Step by step

Add all the ingredients for the coffee liqueur into a pan and simmer until it has thickened like a syrup.

Pour into a bottle and let cool.

For the cocktail, pour 60ml of the syrup into each glass then add some ice.

Next add 1 measure of vodka into each glass.

Mix the cream and milk in a jug, pour into each glass and top with some freshly grated nutmeg, a cinnamon stick and a coffee bean.
